COVID-19 Updates

As communities around the world grapple with the COVID-19 outbreak, the Addison Gallery of American Art and Phillips Academy are continually monitoring the status of the virus with the health and well-being of our community in mind. Following the recommendations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and in the interest of protecting our staff and visitors, we have made the decision to close the museum until further notice. During this time we will continue to monitor the situation and assess the need for continued closure. In addition we will cancel and/or postpone all museum events through May 1:

  • Gallery Tour of A Wildness Distant from Ourselves, Tuesday, March 24
  • Opening Reception for Wayfinding, Friday, March 27
  • Wayfinding: Mindfulness in the Museum, Wednesday, April 1
  • In Conversation: Rosamond Purcell and Robert Peck, Wednesday, April 15
  • Gallery Tour of A Wildness Distant from Ourselves, Thursday, April 23
  • Artist Talk: Gilles Peress, Sunday, April 26

We take our role very seriously to be vigilant and continue to monitor this rapidly changing situation and our response to it daily. We encourage you to visit check this page frequently for the latest information. Updates will also be provided on our social media platforms and through email. We wish you and your family our best during this time of uncertainty and look forward to welcoming you to the Addison Gallery of American Art soon.

Thank you for your patience and understanding,
