Teacher Programs & Resources
Addison Education Staff work to establish lasting relationships with teachers and schools to support and complement education at all levels and in all disciplines.
We work closely with teachers individually and in groups to co-construct programs and projects that illuminate the ways in which visual imagery and museum practice can play a critical role in the effectiveness and engagement of teaching.
The incorporation of visual education into curricula across the disciplines supports multiple learning styles, introduces students and teachers to new cultural concepts and ways of thinking, offers students the tools to analyze and think critically about images in the world around them, and can provide venues for students to have their own voice.
The Addison’s free professional development opportunities include seasonal Educators' Evenings, thematic Teacher Workshops, individualized curriculum planning and Project development, Teacher Guides to current museum topics, and book and image resources.
