Phillips Academy Events and Programs
Students and faculty are invited to co-construct programs and educational projects with Education Staff that support the needs and interests of the organizers and the campus community.
Provocative community dialogues, community service projects, and artistic and energized social events place student ideas, visions, and talents directly inside the museum and allow students the opportunity to draw both personal and educational inspiration from their community museum.
Phillips Academy students are invited each fall to apply to the Addison Community Ambassadors program, the Addison's museum studies Community Service student group. The yearlong program aims to create community at the Addison, from campus to adults and families in Andover, Lawrence, and beyond, in conversation around responses to museum exhibitions. Through group discussion, hands-on activities in the galleries and Museum Learning Center, and meetings with all levels of museum staff, Ambassadors learn about the Addison, the history of museums, theories of teaching and learning, and design interactive programming for all audiences.
